CORAL SEA DREAMING
PICTURE EDITOR
“He wants to appeal to us emotionally, to let the beauty of the reef stimulate our feelings
. . . Hannan has a message but it is implicit in the way he films the reef. He makes us see that its survival depends on our not consuming it… Hannan (implies) a morality of seeing.” (Paul Carter).
Coral Sea Dreaming is the result of five years of underwater filming of the many life forms of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.
The film is a meditation on creation and a chance to look, in a technically unique way, at the complex marine forms that comprise this rich society beneath the Coral Sea.
